I saw in Chris' blog that the entry fee for this event is lowered to $50 for non-Fide players. Its a round robin where 2 non-Fide players play with 3 other Fide players. This means, if you can score 1 point from these three games, you will get a rating. I can't think of any better opportunity to get Fide rating. The only reason we won't get it will be, we didn't score 1 point and in that case I must say that we are not there yet !
I am surely playing in this !

"This means, if you can score 1 point from these three games, you will get a rating."
That is not true. You will get a rating norm. You need 3 rating norms befor you get a rating.
You have to score 1 point in the frist 3 games. .5 points in games 4-6, and .5 points in games 7-9
It's 4 FIDE 2 non FIDE.
If you score 1 point, you get a rating norm. That is correct. You need 9 games total to achieve your FIDE rating. This tournament will give you 4 if you score.
